Starting a new project about Zentangles. Start here by yourself or with a partner...

  1. Look up examples of Zentangles online using Google

  2. Click here to see pattern in photography. We will take photos during class tomorrow.

  3. Look up the visual art defintions of positive, negative, organic and geometric as they relate to creating patterns. Open up tabs with different examples or copy and paste them into a Google Doc for future reference.

  4. Share out our definitions so everyone understands the same meaning.

  5. In your sketchbook create thumbnail sketches that show pattern examples for positive, negative, organic and geometric.

Closer: Review of what we learned today and what we will do tomorrow.

Learning Objectives: Students will be able to understand how pattern incopororates positive and negative space and be able to create their own patterns.

Essential Question: How do I self-identify? How do I see myself? How does pattern effect visual art?
